Robert Half Executive Search has been exclusively retained to secure the next Finance Director to contribute significantly to the business operations and profitable growth for this global professional services company.

A commercially astute individual is sought to oversee all of the day-to-day activities of the Australia & New Zealand finance team ensuring the finance function is both organised and efficient in producing accurate financial and management accounts as well as meaningful analysis to support decision-making. This is a key role for the business with a focus on influencing the growth strategy locally and providing the commercial analysis for new business bids and tenders, pricing and margin optimisation.
Partnering with the Managing Director locally, the Finance Director will deliver business growth through data-driven insightful analysis and operational metrics to help measure and improve business performance. With a proven aptitude at context shifting to move quickly between detail execution and high-level strategic thinking work, the Finance Director will be expected to work with a high degree of autonomy while supporting global operations. The successful candidate should be able to effectively balance the daily oversight of the accounting and finance function, a team of 30+, with providing meaningful insight into the ANZ corporate strategy.
You will be CA or CPA Qualified with over 15 years' experience in a senior finance role gained within a global, multinational or ASX listed business. Experience of working in a business subject to rigorous discipline around compliance and reporting (USGAAP, AGAAP, IFRS, SOX etc) will be highly regarded as would a background in a service industry, though this is not an essential requirement.
A proven finance leader with a thorough understanding of how best to employ technology to improve back-office finance and administrative processes, the successful candidate should be able to articulate where they have directly impacted the profitability of a business by driving efficiencies and maximising margins in industries experiencing challenging and fast-evolving external market conditions.
A highly commercial and autonomous change-agent with gravitas, as well as humility when needed, will thrive in this business.
