This role is the Linux SME responsible for supporting the Red Hat Linux infrastructure (and a small amount of Windows) that services approximately 50 high performance business applications.
Specifically your duties are to monitor, enhance, maintain and report on the security, reliability and performance of assigned infrastructure including servers, software and high performance systems that run on both Linux and Windows OS onsite, offsite and in the cloud.
You'll be working closely with end users to understand business requirements and performance tune and enhance the high performance computing environment as required.
Upcoming projects include an on premise server to datacenter migration; AWS migration; and a number of performance enhancements.
You'll be working alongside a robust, flexible, and highly flexible IT team who work collaboratively together deliver exceptional service to the business.
A SUITABLE CANDIDATE?
This role is suitable for a Linux Systems Administrator who wants to take that next step to move into supporting a boutique high performance computing environment.
Strong stakeholder engagement abilities and experience working with end users to improve system performance is a must.
The following is required:
- Strong Red Hat Linux experience (builds, scripting, customization, performance tuning, design & implementation experience etc.)
- Cloud exposure (AWS or Azure etc) is desirable
- Ansible is beneficial
- Relevant certifications (e.g. RHCE, RHCA etc.)
- Knowledge & experience working with Cisco and Arista network infrastructure is desirable.
- Previous experience supporting desktop applications.
- Exposure to Windows Server technologies.
