THE COMPANY

This company is a global Financial Services firm with multiple offices across Australia, New Zealand, North America, and the Asia Pacific region. They employ 60+ staff in Australia.

Due to strong growth potential in the SMB lending market the business is looking to build a new commercial lending division in Australia.

THE ROLE

Newly created General Managed level role responsible for building and growing a completely new commercial lending division from the ground up.

Sitting on the senior leadership team, this role reports directly into the Executive Director and Board.

Responsibilities include:

  • Fully ownership and accountability for the success of this new division.
  • Development of a comprehensive growth strategy.
  • Drive business development.
  • Commercial loan setup, policy and procedure writing, setting up credit control/debt collection.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Relationship management.
  • Risk management.
  • Transaction structuring.
  • People leadership / recruitment / staff development.

A SUITABLE CANDIDATE?

Suitable for a GM / MD / Senior Manager level candidate with strong commercial lending knowledge and experience with a proven track record of building and growing a business line.

It is ideal for someone who enjoys rolling their sleeves up and building then owning something from the ground up.

The following is needed:

  • Extensive commercial loan knowledge / experience (loan set up, policy/procedure preparation, credit control set up, credit risk etc).
  • Responsible Manager / Responsible Officer level.
  • Extensive contacts in the Australian market and proven business development experience.
  • Strong experience in transaction structuring, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
  • Sound knowledge in broking, compliance, finance, internal audit, staff management/development etc.
  • Proven track record of building a growth strategy then executing it.

This is a permanent role located in the heart of the Sydney CBD and is offering circa $150,000 - 180,000 (plus super) + bonus potential - depending on experience.
