This role will see you providing a full suite of payroll-related services to the business, starting with weekly, fortnightly and monthly payroll for 1000 staff and growing. This role will enable you to improve processes and streamline procedures as well as growing a team and supervising.

Duties will include:

  • Maintain payroll information
  • Update payroll records by reviewing and approving changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job titles, and department/ division transfers
  • Pay employees by directing the production and issuance of pay checks or electronic transfers to bank accounts
  • Prepare reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and non-taxable wages
  • Balance the payroll accounts by resolving payroll discrepancies
  • Provide payroll information by answering questions and requests
  • Maintain payroll guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures
  • Maintain employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks
  • Complete operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results
  • Maintain payroll staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees

Your Profile

This role is ideal for an experienced payroll professional with strong numerical aptitude and excellent soft skills who is looking to move into a role that has a focus on reporting and relationship management. In addition to the above, you will have:

  • Intermediate to advanced excel skills
  • Expert knowledge of awards and legislation
