The organization is one of Australia's leading iconic specialist retailers that has been established for over 50 years. Currently the business has over 100 direct retail stores nationwide, 1,000 employees with the intention to continue to grow. In the last 4 years the companies market capitalisation has increased significantly, yet sustainably. Furthermore emphasising the quality of the executive team involved and leadership direction of the business.
As a senior member of the finance team, you will be responsible for ensuring that the day-to day financial management of the business is sound, preparing accurate and timely financial management reports, whilst also providing support and guidance to various business stakeholders and members of the finance team. You will be exposed to both the retail and wholesale side of the business. Reporting directly to the Financial controller and Company Secretary, your role responsibilities will include:
- Provide primary business support to the retail, wholesale, commercial and franchising units of the business.
- Prepare, produce and distribute monthly Management Reports including Profit and Loss, Balance Sheets and all other associated reports for management.
- Assist in the preparation of company budgets, forecasts and half year and annual accounts.
- Analyze business operating results
- Identify of process improvement opportunities within the finance department
- Own the responsibility of the full end to end processing of all business units to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the financial information of the business.

You'll have completed a post graduate qualification as a CPA or CA and have worked in a management accounting role over the past 2 years. Your career has progressed steadily since graduating and this opportunity will continue to challenge you on your pathway to management or financial control. Having had experience in multiple industries you will bring a new perspective to the team. Whilst they use Microsoft Dynamics AX, they are looking for someone with strong MS Excel skills.
The right person will be successful in obtaining this role, they won't hire someone that just "ticks the boxes."
