Our client is a leading retailer providing wholesale, distribution, business and marketing services to outlets across Australia. After a recent restructure, core teams have been realigned and are now set up for success. The next step is to embark on a major programme of works delivering multiple concurrent IT projects. The Role

Reporting to the IT Programme Manager, you will lead the Change Management practice and support the successful delivery of pertinent projects through enabling and ensuring delivery of all Communications and Change Management executed within, or by, IT Project Delivery teams. More specifically you will:

  • Work closely with the IT Program Manager to define and map out the future service offering
  • Design templates and delivery materials to ensure standardisation across the board
  • Mentor Change Managers and ensure adoption of tools to enable delivery in their respective project teams
  • Set standards and provide consistency in estimation when looking at resource requirements
  • Own the implementation of specific projects
  • Provide strategic and innovative solutions and best practice with an eye on continuous improvement
  • Develop meaningful relationships with key HR, Business Partners and other significant stakeholders to ensure Change and Communication strategies are integral to project success

Your Profile

You will be a competent Change and Communications expert with a proven track record in delivering large scale change across numerous functions. Most likely from a consulting background, you will be able to very quickly understand the current state and have the emotional intelligence to deal with a wide variety of stakeholders in a firm but professional manner. In addition you will be or have:

  • A strong and confident communicator with the ability to deliver difficult messages appropriately
  • Someone who puts the customer first (internal or external)
  • Positive and approachable when busy
  • A person who takes ownership for actions, admits to mistakes and is not afraid of taking risks
  • A self-starter who needs very little hand holding
  • A proven track record and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies, tools and their implementation in large complex IT environment
  • Full IT project lifecycle experience, including scope definition and estimation across a variety of different complex projects and initiatives across multiple departments of an organisation
  • Experience in applying Prince2, Agile, Waterfall and Incremental methodologies
