The Role

The role is a generalist role which will require a hands-on and dedicated candidate who can come onboard and essentially take ownership of the role by developing and implement new policies and procedures and further develop the HR department within the company.

Day to day duties:

  • Confidently provide expert HR advice and assistance to employees and management on a full-range of issues and practices, including recruitment, IR/ER, WHS;
  • Advise and coach employees and management on employment-related matters in accordance with legislation, HR policies and procedures and appropriate industrial instruments;
  • Facilitate performance management and grievance issues in accordance with company policy and legislative requirements, Coordinate and collaborate with managers to assist with all aspects of the recruitment and selection process, including:
    • Scoping roles
    • Advertising, liaising with recruitment agencies, LinkedIn
    • Interviewing
    • Psychometric testing
    • Reference checking and job offer
    • Onboarding
  • Identification, development and facilitation of training workshops;
  • Assist with the development and production of HR analytics;
  • Develop and maintain HR documentation, such as personnel files, position descriptions, employment contracts and HRIS;
  • Administer and follow-up worker's compensation claims;
  • Remain up-to-date with employment legislation and HR/IR industry trends;
  • Provide research and assistance on a range of HR projects; and

Skills Required:

  • Confident relationship builder with people at all levels and from all backgrounds
  • Analytical thinker
  • Self-motivated and proactive
  • An appreciation for managing confidentiality and working with discretion
  • Bachelor degree in HR, Behavioural Science, Law or related field
  • 5+ years experience as a HR generalist in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment (experience in start-ups/technology advantageous)
  • Hands on experience dealing with performance and conduct related issues from identification to conclusion;
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure and think on the spot
  • Strong influencing and relationship building skills with the ability to adapt communication style for all audiences
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Agile problem solving skills
