Robert Half has been exclusively retained to identify an ambitious Retail Sales Manager to join the Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) operations of a multibillion dollar listed European FMCG business. This business manufactures and supplies private label products to blue chip retailers across the globe, and locally has contracts with the major retailers in Australia, namely Coles, Aldi and Woolworths.
Supplying to over 100 countries, and employing over 10,000 people this company has experienced significant growth both organically and through strategic acquisitions. It is as a result of this rapid growth that a newly created opportunity has become available for a Retail Sales Manager to head up the sales function for the ANZ region. The role will be based in Western Sydney and the successful individual will be a key member of the Australian management team, reporting into the Commercial Director in Europe and with a dotted line to the General Manager for the ANZ business. With increasing consumer demand across all of their categories, there is considerable scope for continued growth. As the Retail Sales Manager, you will be working closely with Coles, Aldi and Woolworths to ensure they increase revenues within their private label products at a rate faster than the current market growth rate. You will be charged with identifying innovative ways to improve sales through new product development, promotion, pricing, merchandising and process review to increase revenues and overall profitability.
This will be a broad-based commercial role with you responsible for leading the budget process for the ANZ retail division as well as taking ownership of the overall P&L.
Although strong relationships exist with retailers presently, there are many opportunities to intensify these partnerships and to supply additional products. With a focus on providing solutions for customers and consumers, this individual will invest in market data, providing analysis with the help of their team and converting these market insights into compelling reasons to better service their customer base. As part of a global business, the Retail Sales Manager will have the opportunity to draw from international resources to improve their customer offering locally.
This individual will have responsibility for nurturing and developing the current team of three staff within sales, product management and account management.
A strong sales leader with a proven track record of selling to Coles, Aldi and/or Woolworths, you will have demonstrable experience of winning new business with major retailers. Eager to learn and develop your career, you drive sales agenda, and you can respond quickly working within an agile business.
Experienced in managing accounts with major retailers in Australia, it is imperative this individual has significant experience with relationship development and customer collaboration. Strong leadership capabilities will be essential to your success in this role as will excellent communication and influencing skills.
You will have gained significant experience within the FMCG industry and will be passionate about developing strong partnerships with key stakeholders both within and outside of the business.
