The Role:

The Tax & Statutory Accountant is an important part of the Tax function in the Finance team, responsible for the efficient, accurate and compliant tax function of the Group. The successful person will also provide key support for the annual preparation of statutory accounts for a consolidated group of multiple companies across several countries. This role is critical to ensure that the integrity of the compliance function is maintained as the business growth continues.

To be considered for this role you would need to be working towards completion of CA/CPA qualification and have a minimum 3-years' experience working in an accounting firm in tax and/or business services. Ideally your experience will include international exposure and statutory account preparation for a large consolidated Group.

You will be responsible for:

  • Working closely with the Tax Manager, assisting with the timely preparation and lodgement of all Group tax compliance; Income, GST, VAT, FBT
  • Operating as initial point of contact between the Group and Taxation Advisors
  • Preparation of statutory financial statements, including supporting workpapers
  • Assisting with annual audit processes
  • Calculation of monthly transfer pricing adjustments within the Group
  • Preparation of monthly tax effect calculations and tax provisioning amounts for both current and
    deferred taxes
  • Performing year end tax accrual review
  • Completing monthly GL tax reconciliations
  • Assisting with month end financial reporting as required
  • Maintaining an up to date knowledge of the tax laws and regulations relevant to the Group
  • Recommending tax reporting improvements
  • Responding to ad-hoc queries and requests from Finance team, and any other departments as
  • Participating in relevant projects as required

Your profile:

  • Part qualified CA/CPA or equivalent qualifications with minimum 3 years' experience
  • Proven experience in tax compliance
  • Practical experience in financial reporting, including consolidations and accounting for tax
  • Technically strong understanding of accounting principles, reporting standards (IFRS) and
    compliance requirements
  • Experience in multicurrency reporting and global consolidations
  • Involvement in an external audit engagement
  • Experience in a large chartered firm highly regarded
  • Working knowledge of transfer pricing and other international tax issues
  • Experience working with large accounting systems
