The Role


A strong focus will be on managing the team to ensure key industry relationships are created across both Health and Education sectors and these relationships are maintained to engender innovative experiences for the organisation's students and graduates.


The key purpose of this role is to secure, maintain, monitor, and enhance professional and clinical placement and industry connection experiences for all Health, Nursing and Education students.


To achieve this, they will work closely with the Director of Innovation, Industry and Employability, and the relevant academic leaders (eg Head of Nursing, Program Directors for Health and Education) within the Health and Education Verticals to ensure that relationships with health and other clinical services are established and managed effectively.


As a leader, this role will also have a strong focus on developing professional placement/WIL policies and processes which meet contractual, external accreditation, professional and curriculum requirements. These policies and processes will be evidence-based and reflect best practice in education, particularly clinical education across the Health sector.


Main Responsibilities


Manage a team of Industry Consultants and Clinical Placement Coordinators focused on:

o Finding, developing and nurturing a broad range of industry partnerships
o Securing professional placement opportunities internships and other work integrated learning opportunities including live briefs and projects for students to participate in to meet curriculum requirements
o Ensuring high quality placements, internships and clinical education experiences and experiences for Health and Education students
o Ensuring sufficient opportunities are available to meet curriculum requirements and student cohort numbers
o Nursing - Allocating students to placements based on curriculum requirements
o Early intervention strategies to address challenges in clinical education or professional placement including support for students experiencing difficulties whilst on placement
o Other opportunities for industry connection and enhanced employability for students


* Deliver a framework for the creation and maintenance of positive and mutually beneficial clinical and industry connections for WIL/Internships and placement opportunities
* Set & measure team goals, KPIs and operating cadence
* Represent Australia and New Zealand as a professional brand ambassador at industry events.


General Responsibilities


* Manage your team and their individual performance and engagement to support the goals of the department and organisation
* Collaborate with staff across the Health and Education Vertical and LESA to ensure continuous improvement in systems, processes and services
* Provide data feedback to relevant internal stakeholders when required via direct report
* Collaborate on the development of the Customer Experience operational plan with the DIIE, aligned with key priorities and goals for the Health and Education Verticals


Qualifications

* Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field (or progression towards)
* Prefer appropriately qualified healthcare professional with relevant qualification/industry accreditation
* Exceptional verbal and written communication and negotiation skills, including the ability to deal effectively with all internal and external stakeholders
* Demonstrated expertise in securing and managing placement and other industry connection opportunities for students
* Experience in developing, leading and managing high performance teams
* Creativity in solving problems and generating innovative solutions
* Strong personal drive and self-motivation
