Our client is a health sciences organisation who delivers quality tertiary healthcare services to patients in both metropolitan and rural Victoria, Queensland and Western Australia. At present, they have a need for a Melbourne based Manager to lead Risk and Compliance.
Reporting to the CFO you will need to fast become the knowledge-base and provide decision support to operational management across a range of the organisation's private sector and government operations. The ideal profile of this role is someone who understands the fundamental nature of risk management under the guise of a healthcare organisation's needs and is keen to establish a strong risk culture nationally. This role will perform a variety of responsibilities and may include but not limited manage risks and compliance according to an enterprise risk management framework, ensure the organisation's risk management policies and strategies are in compliance with applicable regulations and strategic imperatives of the organisation.
You will be responsible for:
- Overseeing and monitoring all operational risk management activities.
- Being the go-to and subject matter expert using RiskMan enterprise software.
- Report findings and status to senior executives on risk management frameworks.
- Monitoring and analysing quality and safety risks within the company's business units on a corporate basis.
- Proactively managing remediation of incidents.
- Conducting periodic internal audits to ensure that risk and compliance procedures are followed.
- Proactively manage the corporate insurance program and claims management processes across the organisation.
- Assisting with agency and government reporting.
- Maintaining effective communication with all key stakeholders across the business.
You will have the ability to partner and communicate effectively and are passionate about forming sound business partnerships within a healthcare environment. You are a fast-learner, extremely detail orientated and take comfort in managing upwards. You have a global-mindset, however, you understand that the day-to-day activities of a healthcare organisation requires a certain level of internal influence. You are not adverse to writing board papers and other papers for an executive audience. Your personality will have a certain amount of get-up-and-go and you'll have a non-stop curiosity to develop your skills and experience. You collaborate well with others to develop the trust and confidence when faced with complex problems. You will arrive to the role with 5+ years of experience and will be called upon to deliver high-profile projects and tasks. This role is well suited to those candidates who have worked, or who are working in the healthcare industry, understand the complexities of government compliance and, in time, see this role as stepping stone to a senior corporate role.
