This company operates in the retail industry and have multiple regional stores throughout Western Australia. They are now expanding their regional footprint due to tremendous growth through a number of recent acquisitions.
As a result; a State Area Manager is now required to interface between head office, Area Accountants, outlets and customers.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the State Area Manager is responsible interfacing between a diverse range of stakeholders such as the team of Area Accountants, outlets, customers and headquarters. There is a large number of outlets involved with quite complex dynamics as each outlet is bespoke unto itself given its geographical location or client base. As a result our client requires someone with relevant prior exposure in this field and a commensurate skillset to drive the necessary changes and increase efficiencies. The focus will be on both sales, operational management, tendering for new business and developing the existing client base.
Duties will include, but not be limited to:-
- Identify new strategy's to increase sales revenue
- A natural acumen for motivating staff and a propensity to lead a team from the front
- Conduct regular regional visits to branches and objectively access the quality of service provided
- Report commentary
- Relationship building and the ability to evidence this within a prior role
- Team management and problem solving skills
- Prior exposure to managing large key accounts from an operational and strategic perspective
- Monitor retail standards across all outlets
As the successful State Area Manager; you will have previously worked in a similar role and be comfortable enforcing new policy's which head office require to be implemented. You will need to be a first class communicator who relishes having difficult conversations and initiating compelling action plans to ensure new policies are enforced within the remit of the original timeframe.
Additionally; a strong understanding of the financials is a prerequisite for this position. You will also need to have a natural acumen for time management / planning and be able to clearly demonstrate these skillsets in your previous employment.
