Financial Consultant - SOX Project
$50 - 75 / hour
Inner Suburbs Melbourne
September 7, 2018
Our client is responsible for the largest portion of the Australian market for this automotive services business. They are owned by a large, multinational parent company who has an excellent reputation globally. The business is moving its Australian finance function interstate for future growth potential and, with a geographical change, would like to take the opportunity to assess current processes within the business.
Due to the organisation being part of a global parent, the business is required to comply with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) regulation and, while assessing current compliance, is wanting to identify potential areas for improvement and/or increased control. With a December year-end looming we will also be coming into a busy period which may increase the duration of this project.
In this light the business is looking for a qualified individual between a senior accountant and financial controller level who has had extensive exposure to SOX compliance in their prior work environments. This project represents an excellent opportunity to work with an impressive leadership team, and it will focus on the following areas:
This project will originally begin as one to increase clarity of financial processes and internal controls. After this initial phase there will be opportunities to be seconded into other projects surrounding the growth of the finance function, preparation of statutory reports, business case development for smaller projects surrounding the interstate relocation and more.
You are a CPA/CA Qualified Accountant with an end-to-end background in finance and experience in a SOX compliant environment. Our client can see value added by anyone from a senior accounting level to a financial controller level. You will be able to provide initiative and intuitive thinking surrounding business process improvement and efficiency to increase internal controls and overall business efficiencies. You will be confident in your communication with the ability to present to senior management and liaise with other non-finance stakeholders of the organisation.
This position will suit an active person looking for career growing projects with the opportunity to add value in the long run. The role starts as a temporary position with an immediate start.
