This is a well-established not-for-profit organisation and leader in its field. The business offers disability support services to thousands of people in Victoria. This organisation has aspired to remain innovative and relevant in a rapidly changing market and has a highly capable and forward-thinking executive team with a breadth of not for profit and commercial experience.

The Role

As the business manager you will be instrumental to the success of the region. Finance operations are evolving new processes and reporting models to adapt to the rapidly changing landscape of the care services sector.

This role has two fundamental purposes that will suit individuals who have both a good understanding of financial management and operations, as well as strong people and change management skills. The service provisioning, financial reporting, and compliance obligations have changed for the business. On one hand this requires hands on financial analysis, planning and delivery, budgeting, reporting and process improvement. On the other it requires someone with good people and change management skills to help train and educate the people delivering care services as to why it is important to adhere to new ways of working.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Service Provisioning - planning, funding, contract management.
  • Financial Management - budgeting analysis, reporting, compliance.
  • Growth Delivery - education, process improvement, people leadership

About You

This is a crucial appointment for the organization and the success of the person in this role is pivotal to the business continuing to lead the market in the region. Competencies necessary to succeed in the role include high EQ, good influencing skills and the ability manage the financial operations of complex business.

Your experience and skills should include most, if not all of:

  • Financial management, budgetary responsibilities, planning and contract management.
  • Accountability for financial outcomes in a small - medium complex business.
  • Hands on experience in financial analysis, reporting, compliance and regulatory management.
  • Managing a budget, meeting financial outcome targets, and controlling operational expenditure.
  • Leading people, and communicating change and necessary behaviors to a broad range of audiences
  • Impressive soft skills - the ability to communicate very effectively at all levels, to negotiate in the best interests of the organization, and to inspire and energize teams.
  • Comfort operating in a degree of ambiguity and a high level of resilience in the face of challenges.

It would be beneficial if you have experience in a workforce intensive business.

It would also be advantageous if you are a qualified or part qualified accountant or have relevant qualifications is finance/business administration.
