30 kilometres away from Melbourne’s CBD, Dandenong’s central location and transport networks have helped this suburb become one of the largest business districts in greater Melbourne and the area is only growing as an important business hub in Australia.

Situated on the Dandenong Creek and at the foothill of the Dandenong Ranges, Dandenong offers easy access to the Monash Freeway and Princes Highway, a useful transport link if you’re travelling into Melbourne.

Alternatively, Melbourne is only 50 minutes away by train: as part of Dandenong’s major redevelopment, the state government has proposed this railway is expanded to support the higher volume of trains needed to support the growing population of the suburb.  Dandenong is also a transport hub for the bus network, so most major bus routes pass through the area too.

Dandenong is a place of focus for the Melbourne 2030 strategy, a planning policy developed by the Victorian Government which accommodates for the population increase expected in the metropolitan area of Greater Melbourne. The proposal involves developing Dandenong and other locations so that they will have similar functions and services as central Melbourne. The policy will have a major impact on the infrastructure of the suburb, particularly on the development both property and transport.

At the moment, Dandenong is home to a lot of families though this demographic is rapidly widening as the business prosperity of the area increases. There are a huge number of amenities and facilities on hand including a large shopping centre, highly reputable schools (both public and private), a golf course, hospital and plenty of parks and green spaces.
Dandenong is famously multicultural so you’ll find plenty of shops, cuisines and delicacies that reflect this international background. With over 150 nationalities and cultures recorded as living in Dandenong, there’s plenty of cultural festivities taking place year round to keep you entertained.

Dandenong is a prominent city for financial and insurance industries, administrative services, IT and technology. With the long term prospects for Dandenong only set to soar, consider carving out a career in this developing suburb.
