An established product development company working with organisations across Melbourne and in Europe in developing embedded devices for multiple uses and across various industries including sport, healthcare, government and many more.

Currently a vacancy assists for a dynamic hardware engineer with a background in embedded hardware engineering.

The Role

Reporting to the Hardware Team Lead the role of Hardware Engineer will have broad responsibilities which cover:

  • Perform tasks in an efficient & timely manger
  • Write and review engineering documentation, test plans and reports
  • Design hardware schematics & PCB layouts
  • Perform product builds including PCB assembly, soldering, mechanical fitment, component ordering, PCB ordering and incoming parts inspection
  • Design & Implement hardware verification test plans and reports
  • Develop new and maintain existing engineering component libraries
  • Manage electronics lab inventories and order new stock as required
  • Participate in project, team and sprint meetings
  • Perform daily SVN check-ins of all hardware designs and maintain project repository
  • Work within industrial, mechanical and manufacturing suppliers in the development and manufacture of products
  • Ensure all engineering activates comply to the company's Quality Management System
  • Ensure time reporting of activities worked on is accurately completed each week
  • Perform all assigned tasks in an efficient & qualitative manner
  • Support all quality continuous improvement initiative through participating in and contributing to the development and improvement of engineering processes

Your Profile

You will be an experienced Hardware engineer looking to join an innovative organization.

You will have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with exposure & skills in the following:

  • Engineering or Computer Science degree
  • Experience in altim and embedded engineering
  • Ability to write & review engineering documentation
  • Experience in the design of digital and analogue hardware including the development
  • A knowledge of embedded processors, digital buses, RF and analogue circuitry
  • Experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes and spectrum analysers
  • Understanding of component datasheets
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Experience in performing engineering within a quality management system
  • Knowledge of product manufacture & New Product Introduction processes
