The Company

Our client is a US listed / NYSE multinational that sells a range of products on a high volume basis via their large wholesale and retail distribution channels. Their brand is in most households and globally they are renowned as the best and largest in their market. They are a profitable company that has been growing their revenue and margins year on year for multiple years across ANZ. They are seeking a hands on Financial Controller with strong leadership, commercial and technical skills to join them to manage their ANZ business.

The Role

The role is based in the Inner West, Sydney and has multiple transport options. As Financial Controller you will manage the small finance team which includes, Financial Control, Accounting and Reporting, Management Accounting and Management Reporting, Analysis, Tax, Audit.

The position will have full oversight and management of the finances of the ANZ business including month end, overseas & local reporting, and tax. The AP/AR is currently outsourced, along with some junior accounting duties, allowing this role and the team to focus on adding value quicker throughout the monthly cycle. Management of systems including updates/implementations & projects and working with the internal & external auditors will also be part of this position.

The role reports into the local CFO and manages a qualified Accountant. There will be a medium sized commercial element to the role where you will be partnering with the business including the Marketing Director and Sales Director in cost saving initiatives, process improvements and leading the finance function.

Your Profile

The ideal candidate will come from a Financial Control/Finance Manager background and currently work in an FMCG, Distribution, Retail or Wholesale business. Prior experience within a Chartered Accounting firm will be highly advantageous but not necessary.

Experience in an inventory based business, FMCG or a business involved with Retail, Wholesale, Manufacturing, or distribution is mandatory.

The perfect candidate will also have strong influencing skills, high EQ and have a passion for improvement.
